Children begin their learning at home from their very earliest moments.  At Chailey St Peter’s we place special emphasis on the partnership between home and school, and right from the Reception class, children are encouraged to share reading books at home.  As the children move through the school, they will have more activities to share at home, supporting and extending work in class.  The main focus of these activities is English and Mathematics with other important subjects being included throughout the year.

Both Infant and Junior children have a book for recording reading, spelling, homework tasks and other information.

We feel that it is important for children to have time to relax and play at home, and take part in out-of-school activities.  Homework is given once a week with several days for tasks to be completed. Please see individual class pages (under About Us) for more detailed homework information.
